| Bio: | I'm a 30 year old woman who lives in a cottage by the sea with a super sweet boy by my side. Our dog, who we brought home with us from the jungles of Southeast Asia, adores playing in the ocean even when it's snowing. Our cat has been declared by all who have met her to be the coolest cat in the world, but this may be because she acts more like a very cuddly dog than a cat. In 2005, the boy and I quit our jobs and set out on an 18 month round-the-world adventure. Words can not describe how much that trip has shaped who I am today, and I am still discovering more changes day by day. I feel the world is best seen with a pack on your back and nothing to follow but your heart's desire. I feel like I'm in-between worlds now, trying to find my direction in the US and trying to be ok with not knowing what I should do next. It's been challenging to find my way now that we're home again, but find it I will with trusty dog, cat, and boy by my side. For those of you just itching for some more tidbits... An LJ friend suggested the following description for my bio (stolen, of course): "Born a poor black child, her penchant for violence is only outweighed by her love of a good beer and some loud rockabilly. Often accused of crimes against all that is good and holy she has never been convicted of anything.. and is in fact innocent of all charges leveled against her.. Save one.. She DID punch a baby that one time.. but to be fair.. the baby was being kind of a dick." And since the boy said it's "disturbingly accurate," we'll run with it for now. Another LJ friend, when asked what makes her think of me, said: "Bohemian bars with unpredictable music, indie movie festivals, and road trips." And since that's one of my favorite quotes ever, we'll run with it for now too. | |
